2025.02.04_A MINIMUM RESET

And I can almost bet, without much doubt,

If they’d raised minimum wage to a livable,

An orange-faced fascist would’ve been out.

People aren’t stupid,

They aren’t bought by obvious bribes,

But will value something directly obvious.

Tweaking percentages seems intelligent,

But raising a minimum is their base level.

Those on minimum are barely getting by,

Scrounging cents to simply afford rent,

They live erratically paycheck to last,

Wondering if the cold street is up next,

For moneymen valued their insecurity,

Far more than their wellness and health.

No days of enjoyment do they have,

Mincing about bills to food the table,

No fresh fruits, nuts and vegetables,

No unholed boots to work safely in,

No homes afforded their pay pace,

No splurges to small scale economy,

No fair ways of employment offered,

No future families for price is a child.

Our caregivers are starving for their young,

Our providers are bitter providing nothing,

Our elders wither fast worrying each cost,

And the young are excluded from all wealth,

All abandoned without hope to feel dynamic,

For no vision is offered that has included them.

But raise all up by a bold new minimum,

And they’ll start seeing the hope around,

For it dwells in each other’s living song,

And good gossip is wholesome loyalty.

You want to restart an economy,

Reset the standard at base level,

How else can people live Daily Free?

When pays pace is set at steady fair,

When physical care a body requires,

When a loving family is not just luxury,

When wellness for mental externality,

When fair exchange of small business,

When connection of close community,

When comfort to live in a stable home.

When environment is a healthy temple,

When justice courts fair representation,

When responsive to emergency service,

When networks allow a wide safety net,

When education is a process over cost,

When our coding is managed in ethics,

And when vision is for a future all share.

What is important right now?

Staying in perpetuity and sustaining this world?

Or tweaking spreadsheets and losing completely?

When does a budget balance?

Today, tomorrow, a decade, or a century from now?

During an ongoing trade war or environmental collapse?

But how long-term are your investments that hold wealth?

The people are a collective investment for the future,

And if you ignore the obvious way they’re living daily,

Never seeing their base minimum as a base problem,

Then dreaming of far future worlds unrelated to them,

Fighting distant bloody wars they care not for or know of,

Fiddling in erratic numbers but not changing their reality,

Electing your own leaders and shunning peoples favour,

Driveling about a green utopian ideal while they all starve,

They won’t understand that any political difference is true,

And choose the option to sedate a moments existentiality.

You cannot sustain an environment, nor offer true vision,

Without re-pacing their insecure reality so they can think,

Within that is the morphing of the perception of time itself,

And also in that, the establishment of need and expression,

But we must first have some fair democracy to function well,

For people want lives that have a sense of narrative in society,

Occurring when they speak opinions freely to evolve for others.

An engaged electorate is the strength needed to govern with true authority,

Speaking to their existential lived experience is the way they begin listening,

And from that, the larger issues can be solved with their fuller involvement.

The people don't need an aristocracy's spiritual renewal,

They need a green renewal deal that fairly involves them,

Focused on a minimum reset from which all operate from.

For what can truly be done upon an entire world, without the people's will involved?
