Time might be an eternal swirl of emotional cycles,

Or maybe, some linear equation that never changes,

Or perhaps, it ages like us moving faster to slower.

It might be all these things and more,

But mostly, I believe it pushes and pulls,

At least, framed within conscious societies.

The weight of known history pushing on us like a heavy parchment rolling up its stories,

And ephemeral images of a future pulling into the roll's centering void of long narrative.
