It’s amazing. Truly.
Revolutions all around the world, streets full of protests, and fascists rising into brutal governance,
And still, our politicians arrogantly twiddle thinking they can take away benefits on a divisive whim,
Like fools waltzing the people into insurrection, hamstrung by greed’s lies, and full of selfish vanity,
Cracked-out on a failing system while trying hold deed as inflated bulging celebrities of aristocracy.
From the outside, it almost seems they have a death wish, longing for chaos to overwhelm,
Apocalyptic minds mired in a trove of corruption that only foresees gore-glorious endings.
Or perhaps, such behaviour is because we’ve let them fear the wrong things,
Only feeling dread recalling the deep gashes of their master’s stinging whips,
The fall crack of overleveraged banks, or the networked thongs of billionaires,
But never worrying the people’s raging fires that can snap fast their glitzy grip.
Yet, within their classy formulations,
At emotive roots, it's simply because:
Stupidity bonds many bloated friends,
Greed hoards to envision evil endings,
Cruelty sees its enemies everywhere,
And apathy does enflame every war.
And together, they smirk such blissful joy.
